Wilma Woods, 43, Former Wahpeton Resident, Dies
Committal services for Mrs. William D. (Wilma) Woods, 43, formerly of Wahpeton, will be held at 4 Saturday in Fairview Cemetery. Rev. Charles R. Freuden officiating.
Mrs. Woods died Wednesday morning in a Grand Forks hospital.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 Saturday in the Forest River Community Church in Forest River, N.D.
Wilma Poppin was born July 11 1923 in Mantador, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Poppin. She was raised in this area and graduated from Wahpeton high school.
She was married to Curtis Anjai in 1942. He died in 1946. She then Married William Woods in 1952 and the couple made their home in Forest River.
Besides her husband she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Curtis (Diann) Bratlie of Johnstown, N.D.; her mother, Mrs. Anna Poppin of Forest River; and a brother Donald of Fargo.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Harold who died at Guadalcanal during World War II in 1941.
At Forest River, she belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Wahpeton.
