Obituary

Mrs. Herbert Worner Rites Set for Friday Morning

Mrs. Herbert (Eliza) Worner, 78, a lifelong resident of Richland County, died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Friday at Vertin’s Wahpeton Funeral Chapel, Rev. Charles Ritter officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.

Eliza Radtke was born April 30, 1888 at Wahpeton. She was raised in Richland County and attended St. John’s School in Wahpeton. She was employed as a seamstress and dressmaker at Great Bend for several years. She was married to Herbert W. Worner on Nov. 11, 1913 at Great Bend.

They lied at Tyler, N.D., until moving to Wahpeton in 1924. Mr. Worner died May 31, 1964. Mrs. Worner lived with a daughter, Mrs. John (Hazel) Vaughn, Breckenridge for the past year and a half.

She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Wahpeton and the Evangelical United Brethren Church.

She leaves four sons and three daughters, Clifford, Herbert, Franklin and Mrs. Kermit (Joyce) Lee, all Wahpeton; William and Mrs. John (Hazel) Vaugh, both Breckenridge; Ruth Worner, Jamestown; One brother, John Radtke, Sheboygan, Wis.; a half-brother, Ervin Boettcher, Milwaukee; and a half-sister, Mrs. Leo (Jean) Baumer Breckenridge; 37 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Organist will be Mrs. Horace Lahren with Lyle Jacobson as vocalist.

Pallbearers will be Michael Worner, Wayne Worner, Roger Worner, William A. Worner, Theodore A. Worner, Bruce Worner, Vernon Manock, Steve Worner, Lanny J. Worner Brandley J. Worner, Douglas Vaughn, Danny Manock, Craig Vaughn and James Manock.

Visitation at Vertin’s Wahpeton will be this afternoon and evening (Thursday).
