Obituary
Mrs. G. H. Walby Funeral Held
Funeral services for Mrs. G. H. (Ida) Walby of Wahpeton, who died Friday, were held at 11 a.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church in Breckenridge with the Rev. Ben H. Fadenrecht officiating. Mrs. Young was the organist and accompanied C. B. Cummins, soloist.
Pallbearers were Manville Stoltenow, Earl Stoltenow, Clifford Fitzgerald, Orville Popp, Sidney Strand and Gerald Larson. Interment was in the Garden of Prayer in the Fairview Memorial Garden.
Mrs. Walby, the daughter of August and Wilhemine Popp, was born in Germany Nov. 10, 1880. The family came to the United States and were pioneer farmers in the Great Bend area. She was married June 1, 1904 to Gustav H. Walby at Great Bend, where they lived until 1907. They moved to Hankinson and resided there until 1918 and then moved to Rutland where they lived until 1942. In later years, they lived in Veblen, S.D., and Oakland, Calif., moving to Wahpeton in 1948.
Surviving are her husband, Gustav; two sons, Alden of Storm Lake, Ia., and Selmer of Lidgerwood; and five grandchildren.
