Obituary
Henry Witzke
Funeral services for Henry Witzke, 81, of Fairmount, will be Friday morning, 10 a.m., at First English Lutheran Church, Fairmount, with Rev. Lambert Dierks officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Mr. Witzke died Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Special music for the service will be provided by Mrs. Merrill Griggs. Casket bearers are George Pazdernik, Donald Miller, Elroy Langenwalter, Robert Wetherbee, Martin Moeller, and Duane Thimjon.
Mr. Witzke was born Dec. 6, 1891, in Poland. He came to Chicago, where he was employed until 1920, when he came to Fairmount.
He married Bertha Lohse Jan. 31, 1925, in Chicago. They farmed in Summit Township, Fairmount, until 1959, when they retired and moved to a farm near Fairmount.
He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church.
Mr. Witzke is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Elsie) Krause, Fairmount, and Mrs. Sylvester (Dorothy) Krause, Braham, Minn.; a son, Edward, of Bethel, Minn.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother, and his parents.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening at Vertin's Chapel in Wapeton, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. There will also be visitation at the church prior to services.
