CHAS. YOUNGQUIST HURT IN RUNAWAY Team Runs Away and Wagon Passes Over Him-Died on Monday Night
Last Monday afternoon Chas. Youngquist met with a very serious accident while hauling hay to this city which resulted in his death some hours later. Mr. Youngquist had driven up to Mr. Peschel’s barn where he was to unload a load of hay and was driving a team of horses that had been unruly at several times on former occasions. He was in the act of climbing down from the front end of the load when the horses started to run. He was thrown to the ground and the wagon passed over him. He was found some time later and was unconscious. A doctor was called and he regained consciousness and complained of severe pains in his back. He died about seven o’clock the same night.
Mr. Youngquist came to Wahpeton with his family from Morris, Minn., about twenty years ago. In partnership with Mr. Early he engaged in the farm implement business, and remained a member of that firm until about two years ago. A wife, two daughters and two sons are left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the family so suddenly and so ruthlessly bereaved.
