Obituary
Fred Radke-1917
Fred Radke, or as he was familiarly known by his friends, Fritz Radke, died at his home in this city last Saturday after a long illness, which earlier in the year had taken him to Rochester for treatment.
Mr. Radke was born in Germany about sixty-seven years ago. He came directly to Wahpeton upon his arrival in this country some thirty years ago, locating on the farm just north of town where he lived until three years ago when he retired and moved to Wahpeton. In this city he erected a modern home on Fourth Street, which the family occupies at present. Deceased had been successful at the farming business, and it is believed that he had accumulated a goodly portion of his world’s goods.
He is survived by his wife Ida Radke, and three sons: Carl and Paul of Salem, Oregon, and Wm. Radke of Kent, Minn. The services were held Monday afternoon at the German Evangelical church, the sermon being preached by Rev. Oberdorff of Hankinson. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery.
