Obituary
J. M. Risbeck Dies At Sheyenne, N.D., Sunday, Nov. 21st
Funeral Services Conducted Here Friday for Former Wahpeton Druggist; Prominent Mason
Funeral services were conducted here Friday afternoon from Schmitt & Olson’s for John Mathews Risbeck, formerly of Wahpeton, who passed away at Devils Lake, November 21st. Mr. Risbeck had been making his home at Sheyenne, N.D., since 1930.
Mr. Risbeck was employed in Wahpeton by the Whiting Drug company, leaving here in 1917 for Redfield S.D. He later owned a drug store at Tular, S.D. moving to Sheyenne, N.D., in 1930. He was born April 24, 1884, at Brownsville, Penn., and was married February 3, 1917, to Sibyl Childs at Wahpeton.
Mr. Risbeck was active in the Masonic lodge, being a Past Worshipful Master of the Masonic lodge at Tular, S.D. as well as Past Patron of the O.E.S. He is a Generalissio in the Commmandery at New Rockford, N.D., and acting Commander of that order. He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Sibyl. No other members of his immediate family are living. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Reverend Walton officiated at services assisted by members of the Masonic lodge here.
