Obituary
Mrs. G.C. Rogde Rites Wednesday In Wahpeton
Funeral services for Mrs. G. C. Rogde who died Saturday evening in her home in this city will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock from Foss Methodist church, Rev. B. B. Curtis will officiate and interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Rogde had been seriously ill the past eight weeks and was cared for at home after spending three weeks at St. Francis hospital.
Esther Plummer was born Nov. 16, 1896, at Caryville, Wis., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo Plummer. She attended school there and at Eau Claire where she was graduated from State Teachers College. She taught school a year.
She was united in marriage to G. C. Rogde Jan. 24, 1919, at Chippewa Falls, Wis. They lived there where Mr. Rogde was a public accountant, later moving to Menomonee, Wis., where he was in the wholesale grocery business. They moved to Deerfield, Wis., then to Minneapolis and in 1941 came to Wahpeton where they have resided since.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, John, in the armed services in Toyo, Japan; Charles of Wahpeton; George of Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Peter (Alice) Larson, Minneapolis; Sarah Sue of Wahpeton. There are six grandchildren.
The body will lie in state at Schmitt & Poulton funeral home Tuesday afternoon and evening and at the church Wednesday until the hour of services.
