Obituary
Mrs. Jonettie Rossum
Mrs. Jonettie Rossum, 91, Wahpeton, died Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Wahpeton Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Rev. Marvin L. Hartmann officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening, March 1 at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
Casket bearers are Myron and Roger Ready, Kenneth Rossum, Tom Bernotas, Carl Glander III, Robert Batzlaff, Lyle Green, Lynn The and Larry Janish.
Jonettie Johnson was born Aug. 24, 1889, to Marcelius and Bertha (Olson) at McLeod, N.D. She attended local schools there. She married Ralph Rossum May 17, 1917, at Pelican Rapids, Minn. They lived at Bodulac and Fingal, N.D., before moving to McLeod where they farmed. They retired in 1950 and moved to Wahpeton. He died Dec. 31, 1954. She lived in the Leach Home for a number of years before moving to the Wahpeton Health Care Center five years ago.
She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, the ALCW and the church circle.
Survivors include one son and one daughter, Byron Rossum and Mrs. Albert (Betty) Ready, both Wahpeton; nine grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six brothers, four sisters and one grandson.
