Obituary
Lawrence Richter, Wahpeton, N.D.
Lawrence Richter, 74, Wahpeton, died Tuesday,
July 6, 2004, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Mr. Richter was born Jan. 21, 1930, in Dickey County, N.D. He grew up near Monango, N.D. and graduated from Monango High School. He taught school for one year and later graduated from the University of North Dakota, Ellendale, with a degree in business education and history. He then served in the U.S. Army. From 1956 to 1960, he taught school in Page, N.D. He later received his master's degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. From 1962 to 1963, he worked for Jamestown (N.D.) High School. In 1964, he began work as an instructor at North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, and later become accounting department chairman. On July 23, 1972, he married Ardeith Juven in Wahpeton. He retired from the college after 28 years of teaching.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Michael, Wahpeton, Jason (Kari), West Fargo; two sisters, Louise Richter, Fargo, Edna Richter, British Columbia, Canada; and one grandchild.
Visitation: Friday from 4 to 7, with a prayer service at 6, in Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.
Funeral: Saturday at 11 in Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton.
Burial: Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
