Obituary
Lavern J Rinnels was born on 10/14/1920 and died on 02/09/1998 at the age of 77. Lavern Rinnels is buried in the cemetery: Fairview Memorial Gardens, which is located in Wahpeton, ND.
Following courtesy of Leroy Larson: LaVern was born Oct. 14, 1920 to Jacob and Ella (Baumgartner) Rinnels in Wolverton, MN. He grew up and attended school in Rothay. In 1942 LaVern moved to Foxome, MN and entered the U.S. Army. He was stationed in camps in Florida and Alabama before serving four years in France and England.
He met Mabel Andel in 1945 and they were married on Feb. 5, 1946. They lived in Dent, MN where they farmed. They moved to Great Bend, ND in 1953 where he worked for Dave Miller for 28 years as a farmhand. They move to Breckenridge, MN in 1969.
He was an active member of the Wahpeton VFW, Legion and Eagles. His hobbies included gardening and crafts.
LaVern passed away on Feb 9, 1998 in Breckenridge, MN. Funeral servies were held on Feb. 12 at Breckenridge Lutheran Church.
At the time of his death LaVern was survived by his wife, five sons, one daughter, one brother, two sisters, 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
