Obituary
Clifford Roeder
Funeral services for Clifford Edward Roeder, 50, of Breckenridge, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Edward J. Rutter officiating.
Mr. Roeder died Wednesday at St. Francis Home.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.
Clifford Roeder was born Sept. 22, 1924 in Brightwood Township to Herman and Erna (Medenwaldt) Roeder. He was raised there and attended schools in Hankinson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Hankinson.
He served in the army from 1945-47, after which he returned to Hankinson.
He married Marlys Ebel June 8, 1950 at Lidgerwood. The couple moved to Wahpeton in 1951. In 1952 he began work with Schweitzers. The couple joined Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton in 1954.
They moved to Breckenridge in 1960. He had been ill the past four years and has resided in the St. Francis Home since October of 1974.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter Vickey of Rochester, Minn.; four sons, Keith of Rochester and Bruce, Gregg, and Mark at home; his father, Herman Roeder of Wahpeton; five brothers, Roland and Wilmar of Hankinson, Dewain of Fargo, Larry of Marshall, Minn., and Orville of Walla Walla, Wash.; and two sisters, Mrs. Milton (Leona) Vedder of Breckenridge and Mrs. Reuben (Delores) Medenwaldt of Lidgerwood.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1971.
Arrangements are with Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home.
