Obituary
Marlys R. Roeder, 66, Breckenridge, Minn.
The funeral for Marlys R. Roeder, 66, Breckenridge, Minn., will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 4, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Edward J. Rutter officiating.
Visitation wil be today (Sunday) from 3-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Vertin-Munson Wahpeton Funeral Home west chapel. There will also be visitation Monday from 8:30 a.m.-noon at Vertin-Munson and one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Garden, Wahpeton.
Mrs. Roeder died Thursday, Feb. 29, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center, Breckenridge.
Marlys Jane Ebel was born Nov. 19, 1929, in Grant Township, Richland County. She was baptized May 25, 1930, and confirmed May 16, 1943. She attended school near Lidgerwood and graduated from Lidgerwood High School, working for JCPenney in Lidgerwood. On June 8, 1950, Marlys was united in marriage to Clifford Edward Roeder. They farmed and lived near Hankinson, moving to Wahpeton in 1951. The family moved to Breckenridge in 1960 where Marlys worked for Rays Grocery Store and for First National Bank from 1976 until retiring from Community First Bank in 1993.
Marlys was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was involved in Bible study. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and had a special love for her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter Vickey Roeder and her special friend Jeaneen Kolokythas, Rochester, Minn.; four sons and nine grandchildren, Bruce Roeder, Denver, Colo., his children Sarah and Matthew; Keith Roeder, his wife Sandra, their children Mary and Michael, Rochester, Minn.; Gregg Roeder, his wife Evan (Krueger), their children Brooke and Kyle, Fargo; and Mark Roeder, his wife Kaye (Kuehn), their children Adam, Nicholas and Zachary, Bismarck, N.D.
Marlys was preceded in death by her mother Lydia, Jan. 10, 1988, and her husband, Clifford, Feb. 5, 1975; and a special aunt and uncle, Walter and Mina Ebel.
