Obituary

Jacob J. Roth

Funeral services for Jacob J. Roth, 70, Wahpeton, will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church here with Rev. George Mehok officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Roth died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening and until time of services Saturday at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home. Friday there will be a rosary at 3 p.m., a Bible Vigil at 8, and a Knights of Columbus service at 8:30.

Special music at the funeral services will be provided by the St. John's Ladies' Choir. Mrs. Jack Olson will be organist.

Honorary casket bearers will be Clarence Roseth, Rolf Anderson, Herb Gast, Irvin Kent, Harvey Loll, Loren Pavek, Pat Milloy, Donald Schend, Kermit Lee, Cash Kielb, Orville Muehlberg, Leo Novetzke, Edward Wacha and Elmer Stoltenow.

Active casket bearers will be Clarence Bladow, Charles Oberg, Al Hausauer, Les Bossman, C.F. Gannon and Waldo Bjerke.

Jacob Roth was born Oct. 22, 1903 at Hankinson to Mr. and Mrs. John Roth. He was raised there and attended local schools.

He married Florence Lueck Sept. 6, 1926 at Hankinson.

He was employed by the Soo Line railroad, then moved to Wahpeton in 1935 where he was a Standard Oil agent for 27 years. He was most recently employed by the Richland County Highway Department.

He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. William (Jacqueline) Johanson of Clarisa, Minn. and Mrs. Truman (Connie) Kingsley of Northfield, Ohio; a brother, Adam, of Belfield, N.D. and a sister, Ann, of Renton, Wash; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements were with Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home.
