William Bragg

March 21, 1919 — September 16, 2009

William Bragg, 90, Breckenridge, MN died on Wednesday September 16, 2009 at St. Francis Home , Breckenridge , MN . Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Willow Creek Chapel ( 920 3 rd Ave North ) in Wahpeton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church , Breckenridge , MN with Rev. David Cripe officiating. There will also be visitation at the church Saturday from 12:00-1:00 P.M. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens , Wahpeton, ND.

William Harry Bragg was born on March 21, 1919 at Carrington , North Dakota to Harry and Louisa Christina (Nieman) Bragg. He attended Carrington Grade School , graduated from Carrington High School and graduated from Dakota Business College , Fargo , ND . He married Luella Stedman on October 5, 1940. The couple moved to Wahpeton in 1945 and William was an accountant with Stoudt Motors of Wahpeton from 1945-1961 and with the Globe Gazette Printing Company, Wahpeton from 1961 until his retirement in 2000. The couple continued to reside in their Wahpeton home until 2007 when they moved to the Twin Town Villa, Breckenridge , MN .

William was an active member of the First Baptist Church serving as Secretary for 39 years and Secretary-Treasurer of the Leach Foundation Board for 40 years. He enjoyed woodworking and owning his two antique cars; his 1925 Model T and 1929 Model A.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 69 years, Luella, Breckenridge, MN and six children; Raymon ( Miriam)Bragg, Anoka, MN, Elouise ( David) Lahren, St. Cloud, MN, William ( Teresa ) Bragg Jr., Minot, ND, Marlene (Donald) Jorgensen, Wahpeton, ND, Rebecca (Rick) Snyder, Breckenridge, MN and Myrna ( Randy) Fatland, Wahpeton, ND, five grandchildren; Paul(Cathy) Lahren, Emilie(Mark) Olson, Micheal (Jennifer) Farley, Carlie Snyder and her fiancé Cal Bohman and Aaron Fatland and one great grandson, Nathan Farley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Vertin-Munson Wahpeton is in charge of local arrangements.
