Obituary

An exemplary and highly esteemed woman, Mrs. Annie Boyer of this city, passed away last Friday morning, Nov. 15, at 3 o'clock.

She had hardly middle age, and only recently seemed to be at the zenith of physical power; but her illness, which lasted about four months, and which has been mentioned in these columns from time to time, increased in violence, until at last death came as an almost welcome relief from awful suffering.

The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30, at the Methodist church, the paster, Rev. W. A. Baker, officiating. The choir furnished appropriate music, and the ladies' aid society and others contributed beautiful flowers. The Brotherhood of American Yeomen, to which Mrs. Boyer belonged, also gave floral tributes, escorted the remains from the house to the church, and testified to love and esteem by a ceremony at the grave. Deceased was a member of the Methodist church and of the ladies' aid society, and a large gathering of sorrowing friends was present at the funeral service, comprising many out of the church as well as in it.

Mrs. Boyer was a true woman, a model wife and careful mother, a sincere friend, of good judgment, integrity, fidelity, tenderness and sympathy. While not socially conspicuous, she took a friendly interest in the affairs of the community, and did her part well on any occasion. Besides a sorrowing husband she leaves two sons, Merl Lenoir and Robert Gail.

The relatives present at the funeral were Mrs. Boyer's mother Mrs. Elizabeth Finch, of Brampton; her brothers, C. A. Finch, of La Moure, J. E. Finch and Arch Finch, of Brampton; her sisters, Mrs. J. B. Andrews, of Milnor, and Miss Lou Finch, of Brampton; and Mr. Boyer's brother, J. L. Boyer, of Ashton, S.D. Mr. and Mrs. Boyer have resided here nearly four years, and have formed a large circle of friends, all of whom feel a sense of personal bereavement and extend deep sympathy.
