Obituary
Leone Ruth Buck was born July 4, 1910, at Elmwood, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Mabel (Worthington) Templeton. As a young child she moved to Fairmount, ND, with her family. She attended rural school near Fairmount, later working for Cudahy Packing, Fairmount. On June 12, 1931, Leone was united in marriage to Fred Buck; they made their home near Fairmount. The family for several years would travel to California in the winter to work, returning to Fairmount to farm in the warmer months. Fred died January 3, 1960; Leone then moved into Wahpeton, where she worked for Ben Franklin Variety Store and later worked for the Leach Retirement Home, both in Wahpeton. She entered St. Catherine's Living Center in 1996, and the Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Pelican Rapids in August of 2006.
Leone was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton and had been active in LWML. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary; and enjoyed her 4th of July birthday celebrations, playing cards, and remembering family and friends at the holidays.
Leone is survived by her daughter, Lorraine (Clarence) Bladow, Richville, MN; six grandchildren, Brian (Peggy) Bladow, Kristi (Darrell) Graf, Bradley (Cheryl) Buck, Curtis (Laurie) Buck, Jolene Rikhus, and Barbara (Paul) Bougie; 9 great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Janice Buck, Pelican Rapids, MN; and her brother-in-law, Clemens Buck.
Leone was preceded in deathy by her parents; her husband, Fred Buck, Sr.; her son, Fred Buck, Jr.; and her two brothers, Dean and Owen Templeton.
