Obituary

Vivian Bohn

October 18, 1929 — March 25, 2012

Vivian was born October 18, 1929, near Rural Tyler, ND, the daughter of Henry and Clara (Hennen) Ehlers. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Tyler, and attended elementary school in a one-room country school house. She graduated from Wahpeton High School and was united in marriage to Norman Bohn on October 28, 1947. They lived and farmed on the Bohn farm, moving to Wahpeton in 1952. Vivian worked for Ted's Dry Cleaning and for a time operated her own beauty salon in Wahpeton. She worked in the bookstore at NDSCS, and lastly at Wahpeton Elementary School with the lunch program.

Vivian was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed church activities, especially the senior choir. She was a member of Musical Arts, loved to sew, read, and looked forward to family gatherings at East Lost Lake. In later years, she treasured her time with the "Crafty Ladies" at church.

Vivian is survived by her husband Norman, Wahpeton; her three daughters: Barbara (Thomas) Hlavaty, Menahga, MN; Deborah (David) Shasky, Moorhead, MN; Catherine (David) Eide, Nisswa, MN; four grandsons: Matthew Ketterling, Denver, CO; Andrew Harrigan, Owatonna, MN; Nicholas (Antje) Hlavaty, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany; Benjamin Ketterling, Fort Myers, FL; three brothers: Dale (Sandi) Ehlers, Sioux Falls, SD; Dennis (Cheryl) Ehlers, Coon Rapids, MN; and Vernon (Phyllis) Ehlers, St. Cloud, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, LaMae Boltz and Lois Weiss.
