Obituary
Alfred E. Bohn
Alfred E. Bohn, 88, Wahpeton, died Wednesday, July 7 at the Wahpeton Health Care Center. The funeral will be at 2 Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Visitation is Friday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:30 Friday at the Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel. There will also be visitation until 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel and at the church for the hour prior to the service.
Casket bearers will be Milton, Gary, Jeff, Richard and Jack Bohn and Tom Engel.
Alfred Emil Bohn was born Aug. 14, 1893 at Great Bend to Wilhelm and Ernestina (Brandel) Bohn. He attended Trinity Lutheran Parochial School at Great Bend. He married Lena Medenwaldt Nov. 15, 1916 at Hankinson. They farmed south of Hankinson and in Brandenburg Township near Great Bend. He then was in business in Great Bend. In 1947 they moved to Wahpeton. She died Oct. 28, 1979. He lived at the Leach Home for a time before moving to the Wahpeton Health Care Center.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Leila) Engel, Minneapolis; Mrs. Ray (Donna) Bohn, Wahpeton; Mrs. Randall (Andrea) Powley, Concord, Calif.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Ernest Bohn, Wahpeton.
He was preceded in death by a son, six brothers and four sisters.
