Obituary

John Danicourt

Services for John Danicourt, 80, of Breckenridge will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Christ, Wahpton, with Rev. Edward Kureger officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.

Mr. Danicourt died this morning (Friday) at St. Francis Hospital.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Sunday and continuing through the evening at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home chapel, Breckenridge, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. There will also be visitation one hour prior to services at the church.

John Danicourt was born Nov. 30, 1896 at Pipestone, Can. to Aime and Hortense (Boellman) Danicourt. As a child the family moved to Groton, S.D where his parents farmed and he grew up and attended school.

In 1910 the family moved to a farm east of Breckenridge where he continued his education. He served in the Army in France during World War I. After discharge, he returned to farm with his parents. He was later a barnstorming pilot.

He married Edna Holm June 24, 1930 at Ada, Minn. The couple lived in Breckenridge where he was employed as a grain trucker.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ, World War I Veterans Association, VFW, the Horseless Carriage Club of Fargo, the OX 5 Airplane Club, and AARP.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Robert of Erhard, Minn. and Richard of Casselberry, Fla., and four granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a sister.
