Obituary

Fannie Duin, 84, Wahpeton, died Monday, Jan. 13, at her home. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rev. Ernest Bartels of-ficiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton. Visitation is this afternoon and evening (Wednesday) at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. There will also be visitation at the church for the hour prior to the service. Casket bearers will be Jon, Mark, and Paul Duin, David Jenson, Lyle Pederson, and Gordon Duin.Fannie Boots was born Dec. 30, 1901 in Loquard, Germany, to Frank and Margaret (Stratmeyer) Boots. She came with her parents to Illinois when she was 9. They lived at Redwood Falls, Minn., and then moved to Johnson, Minn. She was raised there. She graduated from West Central Agricultural School, Morris, Minn. She married John H. Duin Jan. 1, 1931 at Johnson. In 1940 they moved to Wahpeton. He died March 24, 1984. She continued to live at Wahpeton. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and a church sewing circle. Survivors include two sons and a daughter, David, Omaha, Nebraska.; Edward, Seattle; Mrs. Donald (Elaine) Jensen, Twin Valley, Minn.; a brother and two sisters, John Boots, Chicago; Margaret Brunkow, Morris; Henrietta Boots, Wheaton, Minn.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
