Obituary
Betty Eckroth
August 27, 1932 — February 16, 2011
Betty was born August 27, 1932 near Edmunds, ND, the daughter of Francis and Ida (Graves) Lund. She grew on a farm near Edmunds. Her parents passed away when Betty was in elementary school and she helped raise her siblings. She married Phil Eckroth on May 11, 1963 in Jamestown. Over the next several years, they raised a family in the communities of Kindred, ND and Hawley, MN. Betty worked for several businesses and especially enjoyed being a medical transport driver for Medi-Van and driving school bus for Barnesville Public Schools. After living and working in Barnesville she returned to Hawley for retirement. During her retirement, Betty's health began to decline and she had recently entered St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton.
Betty enjoyed bird watching and was very knowledgeable about all types of flowers. She developed a strong faith throughout her life by daily Bible Study and prayer.
Betty is survived by her son and a daughter, and three grandchildren; Noel (Roxane) Eckroth, children, Ashley and Grant Bruesch, Wahpeton; and Phyl (Jason) Schock, child Jacob, Maplewood, MN; sister Sally (Don) Schmid, Jamestown, ND; brother, Jerry (Darlene) Lund, Carrington, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, Lawrence and Tim Lund, and two infant sisters.
