Obituary
Beatrice Helen Gast was born December 8, 1915, in Greendale Township, rural Hankinson, ND to Hubert and Rosa (Faust) Herding. She received her formal education in Greendale Township School.
Bea worked at various places doing housework, also, worked at Cudahy' Poultry Co. in Fairmount and Emery's Greenhouse and Red River Valley Clinic both in Wahpeton. Her husband, John, died on January 24, 1992. She continued to reside in her residence in Wahpeton and in August of 2006 she entered the Leach Home in Wahpeton.
On November 18, 1943, she married John Gast at Tyler, ND. The couple lived and farmed in Summit Township, rural Tyler until 1969 when they moved into Wahpeton.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Christian Mother's, and St. Genevieve's Court No. 1003 of the Foresters.
Bea is survived by her 2 sisters, Lorraine (Joe) Paliani, Mission Viego, CA, Bernadine (Delmer) Muehler, Wahpeton; 1 brother, James (Arlene) Herding, Long Prairie, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; her infant brother and sister; 2 sisters, Cicilia Differding, Clara Bach; and 3 brothers, Louis, Alvin and Jerome Herding.
