Clayton S. Hasty

Clayton S. Hasty, 87, rural Wahpeton, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge. The funeral will be at 11 Friday at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Norman Winkelman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.

Visitation is Thursday afternoon and evening and until the time of the service Friday at the chapel. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.

Clayton Simeon Hasty was born July 24, 1896 at Tyler, N.D., to Everett J. and Edith (Foss) Hasty. He was raised at Summit Township near Tyler and attended local schools and the North Dakota State School of Science for two years. He married Ethel M. Nelson June 25, 1919 at Tyler. They farmed the home farm in Summit Township. His wife died April 8, 1971. He continued to live on the farm.

He was a member of the Wahpeton United Methodist Church. He served as a Republican Committeeman for District 25 and also served as Republican Judge for elections in Summit Township.

Survivors include several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
