Obituary
Galen Bud Ista, 75, Wahpeton, formerly Ottertail
Galen Bud Ista, 75, Wahpeton, N.D., died early Sunday morning, June 11, 1995, at his home in Wahpeton.
A private family service will be held at the Frank Family Funeral Home in Wahpeton, with Rev. Ardell R. Aleson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Galen Bud Ista was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Cannon Falls, Minn., the son of George and Fern Ista. He graduated from high school in 1935 in Chisago City, Minn. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Marian Shields, and they lived in Minneapolis.
Mr. Ista was the proprietor of the Colony Carpet Business in Minneapolis, and retired 13 years ago. They then moved to Ottertail, Minn., where they continued to make their home, and for the past year they have resided in Wahpeton.
Bud was a member of the Ottertail Rod and Gun Club and was an avid golfer.
Survivors are his wife, Kathleen, Wahpeton; a son, Gary W. and his wife Barbara, Fridley, Minn.; a daughter, Kathleen and her husband Earl Dosch, Wahpeton; a brother, Robert N. Ista, South St. Paul; two sisters, Betty Shoop, Springdale, Pa.; and Ruby Gervais, Florida; two grandchildren, Angie and Mike, and five step-grandchildren.
Mr. Ista was preceded in death by his parents.
