Obituary
Nora Mae Johnson was born on May 30, 1906, at rural Tyler, Summit Township, North Dakota to Ernest and Alvina (Schroeder) Schoeneck. She received her formal education at Summit Township School, and graduated from Wahpeton High School. She worked on the family farm with her parents and lived in Wahpeton where she cared for her siblings and help get them to school. She married Carl J. Johnson on February 19, 1949, at Wahpeton. The couple moved to Minneapolis, MN, where she worked for Dayton Corporation. Her husband, Carl, died on August 30, 1967. In 1984 she moved back to Walcott, and in June of 1996 she entered St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton.
Nora was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, especially ragtime music.
She is survived by her brother, Robert (Priscilla) Schoeneck, Egan, MN; and 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 7 brothers, William, Edwin, Alvin, Henry, August, Ernest, Rudolph; and 2 sisters, Ella and Corrine.
