Obituary

Clyde T. Jacobson

Clyde T. Jacobson, 58, Battle Lake, Minn., formerly Wahpeton, died Friday, Aug. 19, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fargo. The funeral will be at 10:30 Tuesday at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Marvin L. Hartmann officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.

Visitation is this afternoon and evening (Monday) and until the time of the service Tuesday at the chapel.

He was born Nov. 13, 1924 at Abercrombie to Theodore and Eleanor (Wold) Jacobson. He was raised and attended school in the Abercrombie area and worked for McCullough, Lenzmeier and Randall's Transfer Co., Wahpeton. He served in the Korean War in the U.S. Army.

He married Betty McMorrow Aug. 1, 1953 at Wahpeton. They lived in Wahpeton and they later moved to West Fargo where he was employed by Murphy Truck Lines. He continued his employment with Murphy Truck Lines when they moved to New Brighton, Minn. He retired in 1981 and moved to Deer Lake, near Battle Lake, Minn.

He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the New Brighton Eagles.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, Battle Lake; five sisters and six brothers, Roy, Tacoma, Wash.; Paul and Wayne, Minneapolis; Robert, Scottsdale, Arizona; Roger Sundby, Camas, Wash.; Harold, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mrs. Arthur (Lorene) DeSpain, Burbank, Calif.; Jon Rurup, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Larry (Roberta) Leen, Mt. Hebron, Ore.; Mrs. Vernon (Karen) Glenn, Roseburg, Ore.; and Mrs. Duane (Elaine) Scheller, Wahpeton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Casket bearers will be Art Raeder, Roy Stelton, Robert Novetzke, John Martin, Joe Barry, and Herman Hareland.

Presentation of the American Flag will be by the Wahpeton VFW.
