Obituary
Crystal Thelma Marohl was born January 23, 1916 to parents Olga and John Marohl in Morristown, SD. She grew up and graduated from Wyndmere High School in 1934 and was active in girls' basketball.
Crystal married Carl W. Jensen (also of Wyndmere, ND) on July 23, 1936 in the state of Washington. They moved back to Wyndmere and then to Moorhead, MN, before settling in Wahpeton where Carl and Crystal established Jensen Produce Co. in 1949 and worked there until is closed in 1966, Crystal was also employed in the retail industry at Ben Franklin (1956-1966) and Eva's Clothing (1966-1976). She took great pride in her work as a Homemaker/Home Health Aide for Richland County where she worked tirelessly until the age of 80. Crystal continued to serve others as the "Welcome Lady" for new residents while she was a resident at the Leach Home from 2001-2007.
Crystal was an avid bowler from 1958 to 2000. She participated locally and nationally and enjoyed helping new bowlers learn the sport. She received many awards throughout her bowling career and was inducted into the Wahpeton Bowling Hall of Fame in 1996. Her other hobbies included following the bird watching, and being active in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives.
Crystal was preceded in death by her husband, Carl (1990), sister, Fern (Tootsie) Olsen; brothers, Palmer Marohl, Raymond (Bud) Marohl and E. Charles (Butch) Hanson; and her great-granddaughter, Mara Grace Ulven.
She is survived by son, Roger Jensen, Wahpeton; daughter, Nancy (Wayne) Ulven, Walcott; four grandchildren, Nikkie (Jensen) and Greg Gullickson, Fargo, Sarah (Ulven) and Jared Myers, Fargo, John and Shellie Ulven, Fargo, Chad and Kati Ulven, Fargo; as well as four great-grandchildren, Nathan and Cole Myers, Emily Gullickson and Levi Ulven.
