Walter F. Johnson
Formerly Wahpeton
Walter F. Johnson, 84, rural Pelican Rapids, formerly Wahpeton, died at his home Monday, Nov. 24, 1986. The funeral will be today (Friday) at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church, Pelican Rapids.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, wahpeton.
He was born Oct. 28, 1902, in Wiscon-sin. He grew up in western North Dakota and as a young man came to the Wahpeton area. He was an auto parts dealer in Wahpeton for many years. He married Johanna Hoff in 1941 at Thief River Falls. They retired and moved to Pelican Rapids in 1954. They operated a resort, Lake View Camp, for nine years. Then they moved to a home on Lake Lida in 1963. They have lived there since that time.
He was a member of Eagles and Elks Clubs.
Survivors are his wife, Johanna, Pelican Valley Nursing • Home, Pelican Rapids; two sons, Walter Jr., Camarillo, Calif.; William, Maple Grove, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (LaVon) Jorgensen, San Gabriel, Calif.; Laura Jane Paulson, Grand Forks; three brothers, Myron, Milwaukee; Ray, Wahpeton; Roy, Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs. Wally (Myra) Oudekirk, Arkansas; and Mrs. Lurline Dutton, Breckenridge; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.
