Obituary
Hollis was born on August 18, 1911 to William and Addie (Stoltenberg) Krier in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up and attended school in Breckenridge. He worked for the Wilkin County Highway Department until he began working as a fireman on the Great Northern Railroad and worked his way up to engineer.
On October 15, 1940, Hollis was united in marriage to Violet Trupka in Wahpeton, ND. They made their home in Breckenridge. Violet preceded him in death on March 7, 2006. Hollis was resident of the Pioneer Senior Cottages in Breckenridge. Hollis and Violet were devoted to their family, their church, and community.
Hollis was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Breckenridge Senior Citizens, Wilkin County Historical Society, and a former member of the Breckenridge Fire Department. He liked working on engines, railroad novelties, and playing with his trains at home with his grandchildren. Hollis also enjoyed caring for his lawn and garden with Vi and helping his neighbors when needed.
Hollis will be deeply missed by all who know him; especially his children, who were fortunate enough to call him "dad."
