Obituary
Amanda Karst
Amanda Karst, 88, Wahpeton, died Friday, July 8, at Wahpeton Health Care Center. The funeral will be at 10:30 Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Church, Rev. Marvin L. Hartmann, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Visitation is this afternoon and evening (Monday) in Vertin's-Wahpeton East Chapel. There will be no prayer service.
Amanda Rakstad was born Oct. 7, 1894 at Vining, Minn., to Muns and Mathilda Bakken Rakstad. She was raised at Vining and came to work at Wahpeton as a young woman. She married William S. Karst Aug. 18, 1918 at Wahpeton. He died Nov. 25, 1969. She continued to live in Wahpeton.
She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include a brother, Monrad Rakstad, Wahpeton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Casket bearers will be Donald Holen, Dale Medenwald, Harry Anderson, Glenn Hoppert, Spencer Hokanson, and Willard Eckes.
