Obituary
Ruth was born July 3, 1935, at Spring Green, WI, the daughter of Frank W. and Sylvia (Vail) Metcalf. She grew up at rural Spring Green, attended rural elementary school and graduated from High School at Spring Green. She attended college at Madison, WI, where she pursued training as a secretary. Ruth was united in marriage to Jerrold Kemper on October 28, 1956, at Wyoming Valley Methodist Church, Spring Green. The couple lived in Illinois, Wisconsin and Williston, ND. In 1967 they moved to Wahpeton where Jerrold worked at NDSCS; Ruth worked for a time at NDSCS and Sheyenne Hearing Service, both of Wahpeton. Jerrold passed away December 19, 1991; Ruth continued to reside in Wahpeton.
Ruth was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader and kept in contact with her family and friends.
Ruth is survived by her two sons: Jason Kemper, Wahpeton; Philip (Lucy) Kemper, Fargo, ND, her granddaughter, Emily Kemper, her brother, Frank (Jan) Metcalf, Galena, OH; her special friend, Gerald Braun, Wahpeton; her brother-in-law, Oscar "Dave" Davis, Fort Dodge, IA; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Kemper, Minot, ND; several nieces, nephews great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Helen Davis.
