Obituary
Alfred Koppelman
Alfred Koppelman, 85, Breckenridge, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, at his home. The funeral will be at 2 Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Breckenridge, Rev. Frank Milo officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Visitation is Friday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. with visitation again until noon Saturday at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Chapel, Breckenridge, and at the church for the hour prior to the service.
He was born Sept. 6, 1898 to Henry and Amelia (Neitzel) Koppelman at Brandenburg Township near Great Bend, N.D. He grew up and attended rural schools there. He worked on the home farm. He married Rose Gast Sept. 28, 1920, near Great Bend. They farmed near Great Bend until 1944 when they moved into Breckenridge. He worked for the city of Breckenridge for the street department and later as a custodian. He retired from city service in 1970.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Norman, Fargo; Glen, Renton, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Gladys) Hendrickson, Muskegon, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Carl, Wahpeton; Henry, Laurel, Mont.; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Utz, Wray, Colo.; Mrs. Martha Johnson, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; and Mrs. Henrietta Brown, Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, and three sisters.
