Obituary
Lawrence P. LeDuc
Lawrence P. LeDuc, 75, Aberdeen, S.D., formerly of Wahpeton, died at the Americana Health Care Center Wednesday, June 9. The funeral will be at 10 Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rev. John Lantsberger officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 Saturday at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be Friday at Gates-Vik Funeral Home, Aberdeen, with a Bible vigil at 7. There will be a Knight of Columbus rosary at 7:30 Friday at the funeral home.
Lawrence Patrick LeDuc was born March 17, 1907 at Crary, N.D., to Zenon and Ann (Rutten) LeDuc. He attended Catholic elementary schools and graduated from Wahpeton High School. He worked at Wahpeton as a linotype operator for the Richland County Farmer, now the Wahpeton-Breckenridge Daily News. He married Opal Luick Sept. 26, 1934 at Wahpeton. In 1946 the family moved to Redfield, S.D. where he was employed by the Redfield Press. In 1948 they moved to Aberdeen where he was employed by the Aberdeen American News until his retirement in 1973.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Aberdeen Elks Lodge, and the Elks Bowling League.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Gerald, Huntsville, Ala.; David, Hutchinson, Kan.; six grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Frank Jacobchick, Wahpeton; Mrs. Lyle McQuoid, Bothwell, Wash.; Mrs. Ellsworth Johnson, Renton, Wash.; and Mrs. William Donahue, Seattle.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
