Obituary
Hilma Lelm
Hilma Lelm, 60, Wahpeton, died Thursday, May 13 at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge. The funeral will be at 10:30 Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7 at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel, and at the church for the hour prior to the service.
Hilma R. Wittkopp was born Sept. 1, 1921 at Barney to Gustav and Elenora (Mindeman) Wittkopp. The family moved to Wyndmere where she was raised and graduated from Wyndmere High School. She married Leander Lelm Sept. 17, 1940 at Barney. They moved to Wahpeton. She was employed as a cook in several Breckenridge cafes.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, two sons and a daughter, Kevin and Lowell (Butch) Lelm, both of Dundas, Minn.; Mrs. Robert (Karen) Freeman, Fridley, Minn.; two grandchildren, her stepmother, Mrs. Vera Wittkopp, Wyndmere; a sister, Mrs. Arthur (Clara) Lischefsky, Barney; and a brother, Harold Wittkopp, Kansas City, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
