Obituary
Lydia Lundgren
Mrs. Lydia Lundgren, 81, Wahpeton, died Sunday, Sept. 18, at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge. The funeral will be at 2 Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Visitation is Tuesday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7 and Wednesday morning until 11 at Vertin's-Wahpeton West Chapel and at the church for the hour prior to the service.
Casket bearers will be DuWayne and Randy Simborn, Loren Staroba, Bernie Rydell, Vernon Brosowske, and Tillman Helgeson.
Lydia Wilhelmine Witt was born April 3, 1902 at Barney to William and Minnie (Hoehenstren) Witt. She was raised in Belford Township near Barney and attended local schools. She was employed at Hart's Cafe, Breckenridge, before her marriage to William F. Lundgren April 24, 1927 at Wahpeton. They lived in Wahpeton. She was employed as a pastry cook at Lynn Harris Cafe in Wahpeton.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a charter member and past president of LWML and a member of the Wahpeton Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Mielke, Bloomington, Minn,; Mrs. Milton (Gloria) Berg, Northfield, Minn.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and brother.
