Stanley K. Loll, 77
Stanley K. Loll, 77, Wahpeton, N.D., formerly Great Bend, N.D., died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, Minn.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, with the Rev. Anthony Ahrendt and Alan Werth officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahepton, with military honors by Hafner-Miller-Ross American Legion Post No.20, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 5-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, (920 Third Ave. N.) and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
Vertin-Muson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, is in charge of arrangements.
Stanley Kenneth Loll was born Feb. 9, 1929, at Great Bend, the son of Charles and Gertrude (Zietlow) Loll. He attended school at Great Bend and worked for area farmers.
Stan married DiAnn Steffens on Sept. 24, 1950, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Tyler, N.D. They lived near Great Bend where Stan continued working for area farmers.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1951 and served in Okinawa, Japan, for most of his two years of service to his country. The family moved to the Minneapolis area in 1960 and returned to Great Bend in 1969, where Stan has since been engaged in farming. Stan and DiAnn moved into Wahpeton in January 2005.
Stan was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, a 20-year member of Great Bend Volunteer Fire Department, a member of American Legion and Disabled American Vets. He was an avid sports fan, particularly baseball and football. He enjoyed playing cards, his farm toy collection and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Stan is survived by his wife DiAnn Loll, Wahpeton; three sons and a daughter; Rick (JoDee) Loll, Campbell, Minn., Steve (Michelle) Loll, rural Wahpeton, Kevin (Dawn) Loll, Wahpeton, Barb Loll, Fergus Falls, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sister, Beatrice Neisch, Grand Forks, N.D.; his brother, Duane (Mary) Loll, Fergus Falls; and two sisters-in-law, Harriet Loll, Battle Lake, Minn., Lill Loll, Minneapolis, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gertrude Loll; his brothers; Raymond and Cyril Loll; his sister, Joyce Nyland; and Paul and Hazel Bohn.
