Obituary

LUARENCE H. NATER

The funeral for Laurence H. Nater, 69, American Nursing Home, Fargo, was held October 8, 1988 in the Peace Lutheran Church, Fargo, with burial in Wahpeton, N.D. Pallbearers were Earl Mittag, Al Bakken, Dale Lambrecht, Duane Norem, Kermit Wateland and Merle Hoppert. Officiating was the Rev. Elmo Anderson and the Rev. Randall Schlect. Norma Anderson was soloist and John Jahr was the organist. The Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Nater was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Sisseton, SD, where he grew up and attended school. On Sept. 18, 1941, he married Sophie Vaflin in Browns Valley, MN. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1950 they moved to Wahpeton and in 1974 to Wheaton, MN. They moved to Fargo in 1975, where he worked for the engineering department at Dakota Hospital until retiring in 1981. She died in 1981.

He is survived by two sons, Gary, Cottage Grove, MN and Leroy, Dickinson, ND; a daughter, Claryce Swanson, Moorhead; a brother, Ernest, Sisseton; a sister, Alby (Mrs. Allie) Twete, Selby, SD; seven grandchildren and a great grandchild.
