Obituary
Wayne Osborn
March 3, 1928 — January 29, 2012
Wayne was born on March 3, 1928 to George and Charlotte (Funk) Osborn on the family farm at LaMars Township, Fairmount, ND, where he attended school at LaMars No. 1. He worked on the family farm with his father and brothers. On December 10, 1950, Wayne married Betty Streeter from Wheaton, MN. They were married at the Bethany United Methodist Church, LaMars Township. After leaving the family farm they moved to Wahpeton where Wayne worked for 39 years with the North Dakota State Highway Department. After his retirement, Wayne continued to work another 13 summers for the Highway Department mowing rest areas.
Wayne enjoyed music and he enjoyed playing his many instruments. Wayne also enjoyed fishing; spending many summer weekends at Swan Lake Resort. He loved spending time with his family and many friends. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Breckenridge.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty, Wahpeton; his children: Sharyl Buse, Watertown, SD; Kevin (Barb) Osborn, Little Canada, MN; Brent Osborn, Wahpeton; Brenda Sanders, Fargo, ND; Jody (Shawn) Dawson, Casselton, ND; 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Wayne is also survived by two sisters, Fern Ward, Breckenridge, MN and Arlene Brovald, Mukilteo, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Barry Wayne Osborn, nephew Larry Osborn, a sister, Myrtle Kruschke and five brothers: Everette, Willard, Orval, Leonard, and John Wesley Osborn.
