Obituary
Lars Ole
Lars Ole, 71, rural Wahpeton, died Saturday, Oct. 9 at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge. The funeral will be at 10:30 Wednesday at Galchutt Lutheran Church, Rev. Jeff McCracken officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7 at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel. There will also be visitation for the hour prior to the service at the church.
Honorary casket bearers will be Leonard Flaa, George Feneis, Sam Haarstad, Clayton Erickson, Arthur E. Johnson, Arthur Overby, Alvin Carlson and Joey Rezac.
Active casket bearers will be Dennis Meyers, Edward Moen, Harvey Quamme, Clatyon Syvertsen, Glenn Fixen and Alfred Leland.
Lars Ole was born July 10, 1911 to Iver and Barit (Olen) at Eagle Township, rural Abercrombie. He grew up and attended schools there and later moved with his family to Ibsen Township, Richland County where he farmed. He married Margaret Evenson Dec. 28, 1946 at Galchutt. They continued to live and farm on the family farm.
He was a member of Galchutt Lutheran in which he held several offices over the years. He served on the Richland County ASCS District Committee, and the Richland County Crop Improvement Association. He was a director of the Galchutt Shipping Association, Richland County Farm Bureau and he had been serving as director of the Galchutt Mobil Oil Co.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, two brothers, John, Breckenridge; and Roy, Euphrata, Wash.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
