Obituary
Marie L. Oliver
Marie L. Oliver, 84, Wahpeton, died Thursday, Dec. 23, at Wahpeton. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, Rev. Marvin L. Hartmann officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be this afternoon and evening (Monday) at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel and at the church for the hour prior to the service.
Marie Louise Hanson was born Aug. 28, 1898 at Dwight, N.D. to Ole and Dorothea (Leinam) Hanson. She attended school in the Dwight area moving to Wahpeton at an early age where she was employed at the Wahpeton Hotel and Laundry.
She married Charles Frank Oliver Feb. 12, 1917 at St. Paul. They lived in Wahpeton until 1956 when they moved to Otter Tail Lake, Minn. He died Dec. 20, 1969. She returned to Wahpeton to live. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the American Lutheran Church Women.
Survivors include a daughter and a son, Mrs. J. Oscar (Pearl) Lund, and Charles Oliver, both of Wahpeton, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Olga) Bakken, Wahpeton.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Casket bearers will be Donald Bakken, Roy and Al Hausauer, Tim Stromberg, Merlin Meyer and Robert Sheeley.
