Obituary
Reuben was born May 4, 1912 at Ibsen Township, Richland County, North Dakota, the son of Nels and Bertha (Christenson) Olson. He attended rural school in Ibsen Township and attended high school. He was united in marriage to Antonia Bernoka on August 23, 1934 at Mooreton, ND. The couple farmed south of Galchutt, ND and in 1951 moved to Wahpeton where he was police chief and involved in Law Enforcement for 17 years. They enjoyed many summers at their lake cabin on East Lost Lake, MN. The couple entered St. Catherine's Living Center in December of 2006, where they celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary in August of 2007. Antonia passed away December 28, 2007.
Reuben enjoyed music, playing the accordion and violin; and was a member of the Sons of Norway, and 50 years Eagles member.
Reuben is survived by his daughter, Dolores and husband, Joe Hager, Yuma, AZ; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Antonia; three brothers, Olaf, Olger, and Carl Olson; and his sister, Martha Olson.
