Obituary
Arthur Oscarson
Arthur Oscarson, 77, Breckenridge, died Wednesday, Sept. 22 at his home. The funeral will be at 11 Saturday at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, Rev. Eugene Floistad officiating. Burial willl be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Visitation begins at 2 Friday and will continue through the evening with a prayer service at 7 at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. There will also be visitation at the church for the hour prior to the service.
He was born Sept. 18, 1905 to Hans and Anna (Fosse) Oscarson at Hettinger, N.D. He attended school at Colfax and Abercrombie and then he farmed in the McLeod and Colfax area for a few years.
He married Gertrude Nordick Hanson June 13, 1946 at Moorhead. They operated a dairy farm in Campbell for 34 years. They moved to Breckenridge Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, a son and three daughters, Thomas, Red Lake Falls, Minn.; Mrs. Dave (Marlys) Phillips, Wahpeton; Mrs. Donna Backer, Campbell; Mrs. Bill (Judi) Junge, Breckenridge; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers and five sisters, Herman, Abercrombie; Lynal, Dunbar, Wis.; Mrs. Blanche Snyder, Vancouver, Wash.; Mrs. Mae Nicholson, Puyallup, Wash.; Mrs. Ray (Mabel) Stockton, Mrs. Amy Malone, San Leandro, Calif.; and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Volker, Vancouver, Wash.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, six sisters and two grandsons.

The Garden of the Christus is located in the Memorial Gardens, which comprises the northern half of the cemetery.
