Obituary
Peter D. Risdahl
Peter D. Risdahl, 93, Breckenridge, died Sunday, March 13, at the Wahpeton Health Care Center. The funeral will be at 2 Wednesday at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, Rev. Eugene Floistad officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Visitation is Tuesday afternoon and evening and Wednesday until 11 a.m. at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel and at the church for the hour prior to the service.
Casket bearers will be Arlie Steen, Willard Braun, Lyle Schlotfeldt, Michael Boutwell, William Boutwell, Jr., and Roger Patterson.
Peter Didrik Risdahl was born Oct. 24, 1889 at Decorah, Iowa to Didrik and Bolette Gurine (Alveberg) Risdahl. He lived in Mahnomen, Minn., and moved to Canada in 1913 where he farmed and worked as a farm mechanic. He married Clara Lockwood in 1915 in Canada. She died. He moved to Enderlin in 1953. He married Inga Faller in December, 1958, at Fargo. They lived at Wyndmere for a time and then moved to Breckenridge in 1960. He owned and operated the SpeedWash Laundromat in Breckenridge. He retired in 1968. She died Dec. 10, 1982.
He was a member of Breckenridge Lutheran Church and a past member of Breckenridge Rotary.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter, Ray and George, both of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Carl (Marjorie) Hoffman, Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Clem (Dorothy) Roseke, Antigo, Wis., and Mrs. Gordon (Grace) Patterson, Wahpeton.
He was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and two sisters.
