Obituary
Delmer E. Rossow, 72, Wahpeton, died Wednesday, March 12, 1986 at Scottsdale, Ariz. The funeral service was held Monday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hankinson, at 2 p.m. with Dr. H.J. Jordan officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
A prayer service was held Sunday evening at Wipperman-Frank Funeral Home Chapel, Hankinson.
Active pallbearers were Kelly and Jeffrey Rossow, Paul and James Speral, and Marlin and Paul Buckhaus. Honorary pallbearers (all nieces and nephews) were Judy Ann (Rossow) Bohn, David Speral, Nancy (Speral) Freitag, Mark Speral, John Speral, Roger Buckhaus, Edith (Buckhaus) Grantham, Donald Buckhaus, Patton Kimpstom, Michael O'Bannon, Milo John Rossow, Timothy Rossow, Iris (Rossow) David, Scott Rossow, Paulette Steinhoff, Kathryn (Steinhoff) Plett, Perry Steinhoff, Patricia (Steinhoff) Hughes, Debra (Flambard) Bedolla, Paula Flambard, Paulette (Christenson) Bey, and Carol Ann (Christenson) Webster.
He was born Sept. 1, 1913 in Elma Township, rural Hankinson, to Julius and Bertha (Witt) Rossow. He grew up on a farm, attending rural schools in Elma Township. On Sept. 16, 140 he was united in marriage to Adeline Medenwaldt at Hankinson. The couple farmed southwest of Hankinson until his retirement in 1975, when they moved to Wahpeton. They spent their winters in Phoenix, Ariz. since 1971. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hankinson.
Survivors include his wife, Adeline, Wahpeton.; one son and one daughter, Gene Rossow, rural Hankinson; and Arlene Rossow, Burnsville, Minn.; his father, Julius; two brothers and five sisters, Clarence, New Effington, S.D.; Milo, Hankinson; Florence Kimpstom, Opal O'Bannon,and Mabel Steinhoff, all Bakersfield, Calif.; Jackie Flam-bard, San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. Clifford (Doris) Speral, Fargo; and two grandchildren, Tammy and Gary.
He was preceded in death by his mother and three nephews.
