Obituary
Maxine was born May 19, 1945, the daughter of Elmer and Bernice (Sanderson) Nichol, at Bottineau, ND. She attended local school and graduated from Bottineau High Schools in 1963 and attended Mayville State College. She was employed by Northwest Bell and worked for them until the early 1980's. She was united in marriage to Chuck Schmit on January 30, 1982 in Fargo. Chuck passed away November 13, 2002. Following Chuck's death, Maxine resided in Fargo and Fairmount. She was diagnosed with cancer two years ago and has waged a courageous battle since that time against her illness.
Maxine is survived by her four sisters: Charlotte (William) Bagwell, Littleton, CO; Jan (Tom) Boates, Anthem, AZ; Marilyn (Ron) Nehring and Lois (Mitch) Evenson, all of Minot, ND; several nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law, Ruth Nichol, Salem, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chuck, her brother Wesley and her nephew Joel Evenson.
