Obituary
John Scheuffele
John G. Scheuffele, 51, Wahpeton, died Wednesday, Jan. 5 at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge. The funeral will be at 11 Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:30 at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel. There will also be visitation at the church for the hour prior to the service.
John Gustav Schauffele was born Jan. 25, 1931 at Ashley, N.D. to Gustav and Margretta (Schock) Scheuffele.
He was raised at Long Lake, S.D. where he attended local schools. He married Betty Becker July 11, 1954 at Ashley. They lived at Ellendale, N.D. where he was employed as a mechanic. They later lived at Fargo and in 1957 they moved to Wahpeton where he worked for Sturdevant's for 15 years as a mechanic. He became ill and retired in 1971.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and had served as church treasurer.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter and a son, Julene, Annadale, Va.; John Paul, Wahpeton; four brothers, Leo, Springfield, Mass.; Hugo, Grand View, Wash.; Walter, Seattle; and James, Camas, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and brother.
