Obituary
Ordell Deloris Schlener was born July 19, 1923 at rural Colfax, ND, the daughter of Oscar and Minnie (Hatlie) Hackey. She grew up and attended rural school near Colfax, graduating from Colfax High School. She attended NDSSS in Wahpeton and worked for Lillegards in Wahpeton. Deloris was united in marriage to Jack Schlener on Oct. 12, 1944 at Fort McClellan, Alabama. Deloris lived in Wahpeton where they raised their son and three daughters. Deloris worked for over 30 years for Wil-Rich Mfg. in Wahpeton. Jack died Oct. 15, 1998, Deloris continued to live in their home until two years ago when she entered St. Francis Nursing Home.
Deloris was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she was active in the quilting circle. She was a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and reading.
Deloris is survived by her three daughters' Diana (Larry) Speidel, Wahepton, ND, Lori (Merlin) Meyer, Wahpeton, ND, Mina (Ron) Hanson, Valparaiso, Ind.; ten grandchildren, Trever (Darcy) Speidel, West Fargo, ND, Teresa (Donnie) Lingen, Wahpeton, Todd (Karen) Speidel, Mooreton, ND, Troy Schlener, St. Paul, MN, Toni (Scott) Clement, Raleigh, NC, Andy Meyer, Wahpeton, Eric Meyer, Fargo, ND, Megan (Steve) Gaffney, Horace, ND Dane and Dylan Hanson, Valaparaiso, Ind.; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Arline Hudson, Fargo, ND; and her brother, Newell Hackey, West Fargo, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; her son, Brian; her brother, Maurice Hackey; sisters, Marlys Carlson, Rachel Jordheim and Norma Jean Hackey; and an infant brother.
