Obituary
Andrew M. Slotten
Andrew M. Slotten, 86, Wahpeton, died Thursday, July 8 at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge. The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home East Chapel, with Kenneth Wahlin officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at Vertin's West Chapel and Saturday until the time of services at the east chapel.
Casket bearers will be grandsons, Kevin and Brent Slotten, Brian, Craig, Stuart and Curtis Johnson.
Andrew Milton Slotten wsa born April 24, 1896 at Dwight Township near Wahpeton to Thorvald and Sofie (Soby) Slotten. He was raised on the family farm and attended local schools. He lived there his entire life. He married Alma M. Nypen Sept. 19, 1925 at Abercrombie. They farmed in Dwight Township. She died Oct. 20, 1972. He continued to live on the family farm with a son.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter, Wallace, Alexandria, Va.; Roger, Dwight Township; Mrs. Lloyd (Lorraine) Jacobsen, Manhattan, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Swanhild Koep, Elbow Lake, Minn.
He was preceded in death by a sister, a brother, and a great-granddaughter.
