Obituary
Leona M. Mitzel was born July 21, 1918, near Dwight, ND, the only daughter of William F. and Alma (Gutzmer) Mitzel. Leona was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church, Dwight. She grew up near Dwight and attended rural school at Mitzel Country School. Leona was united in marriage to James Corrie Snider at Breckenridge. The couple lived near Kent, MN before moving to Breckenridge, MN, where they lived for many years. Jim passed away January 14, 1994; Leona continued to live in Breckenridge until entering nursing homes in June of 2007.
Leona was a long time member of Breckenridge Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling with Jim in their motor home.
Leona is survived by her three brothers Ivan (Joyce) Mitzel, Breckenridge, Floyd "Ike" (Pat) Mitzel, Fergus Falls, MN, William R. (Pat) Mitzel, Kirkland, WA; many nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Agatha Mitzel and Dorothy Mitzel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; and two brothers, Marvin and Lyle Mitzel.
